RESEARCH
Prioritising features that enhance functionality & safety for group connectivity
Research combined user interviews, empathy mapping, and context analysis to identify key needs for REVA’s infotainment system. Group discussions, competitor and MoSCoW analysis prioritised essential features, including usability, reliability, connectivity, accessibility, and safety as core 5 features, along with audio/ video playback and user profiles as secondary, highlighting the need to cater to various users with a scalable system.
DESIGN
Refining through cycles: elevating usability with each iteration
Using the Crazy 8 method, REVA's design process focused on user-friendly navigation for all ages and tech skills. Low-fidelity testing highlighted strong usability but revealed areas to improve syncing visibility, icon clarity, and navigation. The high-fidelity mockup refined these aspects, emphasising REVA’s USP, clear hierarchy, and immersive content for an engaging group travel experience.
SOLUTION
Redefining group travel experiences
REVA’s infotainment system offers unique synchronised entertainment and coordinated navigation across vehicles. With more people traveling in groups, the system’s scalability for friend travels, business productivity and family entertainment meets growing demand. This adaptable system enhances REVA's competitive edge, meeting the needs of both personal and business travel, while establishing itself as a leader in connected vehicle technology.

EVALUATION
Streamlining with smarter features for an effortless journey
Testing revealed positive feedback on the system's usability, with users quickly recognising its app-based design. However, areas for improvement were identified, such as clearer device connection instructions and faster emergency responses. Future updates will focus on enhancing ease of use through AI recommendations, shortcut navigation, improved control settings, and clearer maps, all aimed at further elevating the user experience.
REFLECTION
Collaboration driving innovative design
In the group of 6, I led collaboration and the design process, co-managing tasks, ensuring transparency with meeting notes, and translating user research into functional UI designs using Figma. My architecture background informed wireframing and prototyping, while the project deepened my understanding of UI/UX design, particularly in user empathy and iteration. Despite challenges with technology and scheduling, the team maintained productivity through digital tools, and the experience strengthened my project management skills and highlighted the importance of communication and user feedback in design.
