LivGreen fosters a health-conscious, eco-friendly lifestyle with a home agriculture system requiring minimal land and water. Designed to simplify hydroponics for beginners, the app empowers users to grow organic produce while leveraging a community network to promote informed choices and build expertise.

Research identified the need for beginner-friendly features and system optimisation for professionals, using personas, empathy mapping, and competitor analysis. A gap in community-focused apps shaped the project's USP. A brand audit reinforced LivGreen’s sustainability focus, prioritising accessibility and education with a seamless experience, strong support, and active community engagement.

DESIGN

Creating a seamless hydroponics experience fused user insights with innovative branding


Design process integrated hydroponics knowledge, user needs, and brand identity to create a cohesive logo, typography, and merchandise for promotions at university fairs. Research and empathy mapping shaped intuitive information architecture, while sketches and wireframes laid the foundation for a user-centred design. After low-fidelity testing, the design evolved into a high-fidelity Figma prototype, refining functionality and addressing improvements.

USER EVALUATION

Refined for real-life ease through hands-on testing


User testing at university events revealed areas for improvement, including IoT integration, expanded plant monitoring, and multimedia tutorials for beginners. Users also requested enhanced community features like Q&A, challenges, and trading, along with tailoring the app for hobbyists, commercial growers, and sustainability advocates. These insights are shaping the app's evolution to better meet user needs and increase adoption.
