MAY 2023 (2 WEEKS)
Giving voice to the emotional struggles of eldest daughters in immigrant families, using visual narrative to highlight their resilience and create an empathetic experience.
Unveiling the Resilience of Eldest Daughters
Connecting the experiences of eldest daughters in immigrant families to the stages of the Hero’s Journey and the symbolism of the Major Arcana tarot cards. Each stage of their growth—such as responsibility, sacrifice, and self-discovery—aligns with key tarot cards like The Empress, The Fool, and The Strength, offering a visual and symbolic narrative that highlights their emotional transformation.
Visual Journey Through the Hero’s Journey and Tarot
The concept evolved into a set of tarot-inspired cards and an experiential, interactive exhibition. Through tactile interaction and visual storytelling, the exhibition invited deeper reflection and emotional engagement, offering the exploration of their struggles and growth more impactful for the audience.
